TSUKI Tokyo Hotel, Tsukiji: Where Japanese Traditions Meet Modern Luxury

In the heart of the neighborhood of Tsukiji in Tokyo, there’s a hotel called “TSUKI Tokyo” that aims to make you a Japan connoisseur, or in their words, “Nippon savvy.” Here, you’ll experience more than just a place to stay—you’ll get to savor Japan with all your senses.

The hotel is within walking distance of the famed Tsukiji Market, and just a 10-minute walk from the shopping haven of Ginza. Despite its central location, however, the area around the hotel is quiet and peaceful, making it perfect for those who want to separate their sightseeing from relaxation.

A private bath that requires a reservation

One of the highlights of TSUKI Tokyo, which prides itself on being a hotel where guests can deepen their knowledge and appreciation of Japan, is its private bath. The tub, made from Aomori Hiba, a type of Japanese cypress, fills the entire room with the wood’s soothing aroma when filled with hot water.

Rooms featuring traditional Japanese craftwork

What makes TSUKI Tokyo’s rooms stand out is the incorporation of traditional Japanese crafts. The bed throws are made from aizome (traditional indigo dye), and the tea sets provided in the rooms are made from Mino ware, a classic Japanese pottery style.

The Premier Double room

Rooms come with an electric kettle, cups, wine glasses, and a tea set

Additionally, the Premier Double, Premier Twin, and Deluxe Twin rooms come with hinoki cypress baths. You can enjoy a fragrant bath time right in your room, enveloped by the same comforting scent as the private baths.

The 31 rooms in the hotel are designed with natural wood tones, creating a relaxing, simple, and serene atmosphere that exudes the beauty of Japanese minimalism.

Each room is equipped with a full range of amenities, including shampoo, conditioner, body soap, toothbrush, hairbrush, and more. Additional amenities such as body lotion, cleansing products, hair ties, shower caps, and cotton pads are also provided.

The towels used in the rooms are made in Imabari, Ehime Prefecture, a world-renowned towel-producing region in Japan.

The sake bar on the first floor and bento breakfast will enhance your culinary experience

At TSUKI Tokyo, you can also enjoy fine Japanese cuisine without leaving the hotel.

“Sake-Bar TABLE TSUKI” is located right next to the front desk

The sake bar on the first floor, “Sake-Bar TABLE TSUKI,” is open not only to hotel guests but to the public as well.

The bar offers around ten counter seats where guests can savor a carefully selected range of sake from different regions of Japan. Each sake is chosen with special attention to its water, rice, and fermentation process, as well as its brewers and their expertise.

A standout feature is the detailed descriptions provided for each sake’s origin, taste, and characteristics. This transforms the experience into more than just drinking—you’ll gain a deeper understanding of sake and, as the hotel puts it, leave more “Nippon savvy” then when you arrived.

Every sake on the menu is handpicked by the staff, ensuring a memorable experience.

When staying at TSUKI Tokyo, don’t miss out on the breakfast bento. The hotel partners with the bento specialist Hakejouyu Noriben Yamanobori, offering two types of bento to choose from for breakfast.

The first option is called “Sea,” featuring a large piece of salmon so big it almost overflows from the bento box. The tender, flavorful salmon melts in your mouth, with a perfect balance of salt. The meal also includes a thick tamagoyaki (Japanese omelette) and a generously-sized tempura of chikuwa (tube-shaped fish cake), providing a hearty meal to kickstart your day.

“『海』,” ‘Sea’ bento

The second option, “Mountain,” centers on tender chicken teriyaki, prepared with shio-kōji (salted rice malt) to enhance the texture and bring out the meat’s natural sweetness and umami. The accompanying soft-boiled egg is a standout, with its rich yolk offering a creamy, almost buttery aftertaste.

“『山』,” ‘Mountain’ bento

Both bentos are noriben (seaweed bento) types, served over a layer of white rice and high-quality seaweed that adds a rich aroma and smooth texture. You can reserve your bento at the front desk by 6:00 PM the day before. Both Sea and Mountain bentos cost 1,300 JPY (tax included).

You can also opt for a breakfast-included stay plan for an unforgettable TSUKI Tokyo dining experience.

Personalized service embodying Japanese hospitality

Finally, one of the services that best reflects TSUKI Tokyo’s dedication to hospitality is its concierge service. The concierge team will not only recommend attractions to make your trip more enjoyable but also ensure that your stay is as comfortable as possible.

The thoughtful service provided throughout your stay is a reflection of TSUKI Tokyo’s commitment to omotenashi—the Japanese spirit of warm hospitality.

With its serene setting and deep connection to Japanese culture, TSUKI Tokyo is set to become even more popular among international travelers.
