Yamagata Prefecture is famous for cherries, Okayama Prefecture for peaches, and Hokkaidō Prefecture for melons—Japan is dotted with regions known for their signature fruits.
Among them, Wakayama Prefecture stands out as a major fruit-producing region, thanks to its rich natural environment and mild climate.
“Kannonyama Fruit Parlour Ginza,” with locations in Wakayama and Tokyo’s upscale Ginza district, is a popular destination where visitors can enjoy fresh, high-quality fruit delivered directly from a Wakayama farm.
Their fruit parfaits are the star attraction, with the lineup changing seasonally to showcase fruits at their peak.

The “Farm parfait of seasonal fruits from Wakayama prefecture”: a parfait packed with the flavors of Wakayama
Kannonyama Fruit Parlour Ginza is run by Kannonyama Fruit Garden, a specialty fruit farm located in Kinokawa City, Wakayama.
Established in 1911, the farm has a long history and grows a wide range of fruits, including the region’s famous mikan (mandarin oranges), along with persimmons, grapes, lemons, figs, and more.
At Kannonyama Fruit Garden, one of their core commitments is hand-sorting each piece of harvested fruit, ensuring exceptional freshness.
Because even a slight impact can affect the flavor, careful handling is essential to preserving the fruit’s natural deliciousness.

Kannonyama Fruit Parlour Ginza is known for using locally grown fruits
Every parfait at Kannonyama Fruit Parlour is made with carefully cultivated fruits, and each one is equally tempting.
Among them, the “Farm parfait of seasonal fruits from Wakayama prefecture” stands out—a beautifully crafted dessert that lets you enjoy the full appeal of Wakayama-grown fruit with both your eyes and your taste buds.

Many fruits reach their flavor peak for just a few days, so enjoying them “today” can truly be a once-in-a-season experience.
And so with this parfait, it’s only natural that the types of fruit used are changed throughout the offering period.
It’s a thoughtful approach that reflects a genuine dedication to quality and the passion of the growers behind each piece of fruit.

For its citrus fruits alone, three different types are used
Only the finest fruits make the cut—so it’s no surprise the flavor is truly exceptional. The citrus fruits are especially rich, with a surprising level of sweetness.
From the very first bite, you’re met with a burst of juicy fruit and an exceptional, vibrant flavor.
And yet, it finishes with a refreshing lightness that lingers on the palate—reshaping your idea of what citrus can be.

Fruits are sourced primarily from Kinokawa City in Wakayama Prefecture
As you work your way down the parfait, you’ll reach a layer of citrus jam and whipped cream that completely transforms the flavor profile.
Made in-house at Kannonyama Fruit Garden, the mikan jam pairs beautifully with the whipped cream to create a mellow, delicate sweetness.
Beneath that is a refreshing jelly and chunks of fresh fruit—offering evolving textures and flavors that keep each bite interesting until the very end.

The “Kannonyama Lemon Parfait”: a zesty treat down to the edible lemon skin
Another dessert that captures the farm’s philosophy is the “Kannonyama Lemon Parfait”, made using their signature Kannonyama lemons—lemons so safe and clean you can eat the peel.

Kannonyama lemons are grown using methods that minimize pesticide residue. While conventional lemon farming typically involves at least six pesticide sprays per year, Kannonyama Fruit Garden limits this to just two applications annually.
Additionally, no preservatives or wax coatings are used, making the peel safe and enjoyable to eat.

You can even eat the skin of Kannonyama lemons
The reason is that the motto of Kannonyama Fruit Garden is “Lemons so safe you can let your own grandchildren eat them whole.”
Reflecting this philosophy, the Kannonyama Lemon Parfait is made using every part of the lemon—from the fruit to the peel.
The parfait is adorned with ingredients crafted in the workshop of Kannonyama Fruit Garden itself.

Lemon jam made using the peel is available for purchase at Kannonyama Fruit Parlour Ginza
The lemon-flavored ice cream is enhanced with a special lemon jam made by simmering whole lemon peels. The mellow acidity and slight bitterness blend perfectly with the ice cream’s refreshing sweetness, creating a rich and layered taste.
The glass is garnished with syrup-preserved lemon slices—softened so you can enjoy the whole slice as is.

Black tea jelly is included
For the finishing touch, it’s topped with lemon peel and finely grated lemon zest, making it a truly luxurious lemon-filled treat.
The layers of tartness, sweetness, and gentle bitterness blend together, letting the vibrant flavors of lemon unfold richly in your mouth.

Because the peel is edible, Kannonyama lemons are one of the farm’s most popular fruits.
They’re incredibly versatile—perfect for making jam, lemonade, and more—so you can enjoy them in many different ways.
At Kannonyama Fruit Parlour Ginza you’ll also find a variety of jams and drinks made in their own workshop, making them great options to take home as souvenirs.

Jams and juices are also available for purchase
Kannonyama Fruit Garden began as a fruit farm—but today, they’ve expanded into processing and retail, all while staying true to their roots as growers.
Driven by the same passion they’ve had since their early farming days, Kannonyama Fruit Garden continues to share the deliciousness of local Wakayama fruits with the world.
