The Golden Sesame Tantan is a tantan noodles dish vegans can enjoy
When it comes to making ramen, meat and fish are essential ingredients, providing richness and depth to the flavor.
What’s remarkable about the Golden Sesame Tantan is that it achieves a rich taste without using any animal products. The soup is made from plant-based ingredients, allowing the gentle sweetness of vegetables to come through.
The toppings include komatsuna (Japanese mustard spinach), bean sprouts, and vibrant pink-colored kōshin daikon (watermelon radish), offering a variety of colorful vegetables. Each vegetable provides a different texture to enjoy.
It’s recommended to mix the noodles, soup, and toppings thoroughly. The topping of peanut paste adds richness to the soup when it dissolves into it.
The Gold Sesame Tantan is generously packed with various toppings, making it quite a hearty meal.
The diverse vegetables with distinct textures as toppings contribute to a satisfying post-meal feeling.
With its great taste and substantial portion, it’s easy to understand why this is T’s TANTAN’s flagship dish!
Under 100 calories per bowl, the “Japanese Yuzu Ramen” is super healthy

Soy-based char-siu and vegan cheese make the “Tantan Bowl (Rice Bowl)”
T’s TANTAN’s indulgent “Tantan Bowl (Rice Bowl)” is loaded with all the popular toppings.
“たんたんボウル,” Tantan Bowl (Rice Bowl) 1,200 JPY (tax included)
The Umami bites editorial team tried out the bowl, and were particularly impressed by the deliciousness of the vegan char siu and vegan cheese.
The vegan char siu has a satisfying chewiness and a texture reminiscent of chicken breast. It’s seasoned with soy sauce, original sauce, and cane sugar, creating a rich umami that spreads with every bite.
As for the vegan cheese, being made from plant-based ingredients, it has a subdued tartness and can be likened to cottage cheese.
