“Fruit Parlor KAJITSUEN Liber Shibuya Hikarie” (written hereafter as “Kaijitsuen Liber”) is a fruit parlor chain primarily operating in the Kantō region of Japan. The store located on the 6th floor of Shibuya Hikarie, a food and shopping complex directly connected to Shibuya Station, is bustling with customers all day long.
A dream-like parfait with fruits that appear to dance
One of the most popular menu items, among both Japanese and international diners, is the “Fruit parfait.”
The parfait, crafted to look as if the fruit is dancing, excites just by its appearance alone.

According to the restaurant staff, the way the fruit is cut is quite a rare treat and intriguing to international diners. Perhaps the delicacy and attention to detail characteristic of Japanese culture are represented in this parfait’s preparation.
The Fruit parfait uses 12 different types of fruit.
Basic fruits like strawberries, pineapples, and grapefruits are used year-round. In addition to these staples, seasonal fruits are also incorporated, with the fruit adorning the top of the parfait representing the current season.
As you savor the layers of fruit, you’ll eventually discover fresh cream and ice cream beneath. The unique delight of this parfait is the variety of flavors you experience as you enjoy the fruits, followed by another layer of sweetness.
The depth of Japanese sweets made with fruit
Kajitsuen Liber also offers a variety of Japanese-style desserts.
The “Anmitsu of Hojicha and Genmaicha” served with warm matcha is a luxurious delicacy. Pineapple, melon, watermelon, mango, and strawberries surround sweet red bean paste and vanilla ice cream. Hōjicha in the dish’s title refers to roasted green tea, and genmaicha to green tea with roasted brown rice.
Additionally, it includes chestnuts and shiratama (rice flour dumplings), both of them integral to the traditional Japanese dessert, anmitsu

The combination of red bean paste and fruit is, of course, a perfect match. The cold sweetness of the ice cream adds a complex flavor to the dish as a whole.
One highlight is the hojicha jelly layered beneath the ice cream. The slight bitterness of the jelly really enhances the depth of the flavors in the parfait.
Drizzling syrup over the anmitsu introduces a different kind of sweetness from the red bean paste, making it even more exquisite. Enjoying it with the accompanying matcha creates a delightful harmony, providing a sense of luxury.
Hearty pancakes for a satisfying meal
The restaurant’s “Mixed fruit Pancake” features pancakes garnished with fruits. Large cuts of strawberry, banana, kiwi, mango, and pineapple colorfully decorate the pancakes.
These delightfully fluffy pancakes have a taste that doesn’t overpower the natural sweetness of the fruit. Try placing the fruit on top of the pancakes as you eat.

Moreover, the syrup-covered pancakes perfectly match with the whipped cream. This filling dish could satisfy even as a lunch option.
There’s also a rich selection of 100% fruit juices recommended to order with desserts. Starting with the “Muskmelon juice,” each drink offers the supreme taste of pure fruit.

Rich variety of Italian-style cakes
Near the store entrance, a glass showcase displays colorful cakes. These are zuccotto, traditional Italian dome-shaped cakes. The outer dome is densely decorated with fruits like strawberries and grapes.
With enticing names such as “Warm Treasure Tangerine and Strawberry Zuccotto,” “Shine Muscat Zuccotto,” “Mango Zuccotto,” and “Berry Zuccotto,” each cake is just as intriguing as it sounds.
The cross-sections are are generously packed with fruits, allowing you to fully enjoy their taste in every bite.
Not only are the desserts delicious, but you can also purchase fresh fruits as souvenirs, so you can indulge in these especially selected fruits back at your hotel room!
It’s not just desserts, either. Kaijitsuen Liber offers various meal options.
The choices range from hamburgers like the “100% Beef Juicy Hamburger,” “Shrimp Cutlet and Salsa Sauce Hamburger,” and “Thick-cut Bacon and Avocado Hamburger” to German hot dogs, French toast, and sandwiches.
They also offer about 10 types of pasta, as well as Italian dishes like pizza and risotto, plus Japanese favorites like omurice and curry!
The ability to enjoy a full meal followed by a genuine, fruit-filled dessert is truly a luxurious experience at this restaurant!
