Located at the base of Tokyo Skytree in Oshiage, the Tokyo Solamachi shopping complex is home to “Horiuchi Fruit Farm TOKYO Solamachi” (referred to hereafter as “Horiuchi Fruit Farm”), a cafe directly operated by the fruit farm of the same name.
It’s a true destination for fruit lovers—where you can indulge all five senses in the delicious world of fruit.
The cafe’s sweets, made generously with seasonal fruits, are as vibrant in appearance as they are in flavor. It’s an irresistible spot for anyone who loves fruit, offering a taste of the season in every bite.

Sweets at Horiuchi Fruit Farm
Stunning parfaits made with premium Japanese fruits
Horiuchi Fruit Farm Café is renowned for its wide variety of fruit-based sweets that let the freshness and quality of the produce shine.
Among the most popular items are the parfaits, lavishly topped with seasonal fruits. Their fresh, full-bodied flavor is something only a dedicated fruit farm could deliver.

The parfait lineup changes with the seasons, making each visit a chance to encounter new fruits.
When we visited in June 2025, parfaits featuring Japanese cherries and American cherries were on offer—the colorful array of fruits was truly a sight to behold.
Among them, the one we’d like to highlight is the “Melon Parfait,” made with melon at the peak of its summer season. As the name suggests, this luxurious parfait uses a whole melon, making for an impressive presentation as well.

The parfait uses high-quality melons from Ibaraki Prefecture, Japan’s top melon-producing region. It features the carefully selected “Ibaraking” variety, known for its rich aroma and intense sweetness.
Fully ripened, the flesh is melt-in-your-mouth tender. With each bite, the overflowing juice and refined sweetness spread across your palate—an utterly luxurious experience.

Horiuchi Fruit Farm’s Melon Parfait is thoughtfully crafted to let you fully enjoy the deliciousness of the melon’s flesh.
By keeping the vanilla ice cream and whipped cream to a minimum, the parfait is designed to let the melon’s natural flavor and texture take center stage.

You start by enjoying the fruit topping. One bite of the juicy melon flesh fills your mouth with a fresh sweetness, as if summer sunshine has been captured in each piece.
But that’s not all—the melon itself serves as the bowl, and inside, even more melon awaits.
The real joy of the cafe’s Melon Parfait is digging in with a spoon and savoring every scoop straight from the fruit.

As you continue eating, the melon flesh begins to blend perfectly with the melting vanilla ice cream, creating an even richer sweetness to enjoy.
Not only is it visually stunning, but the flavor also evolves with each bite, showcasing a deep dedication to the fruit itself. It’s a parfait that melon lovers won’t be able to resist—a true indulgence worth treating yourself to.

Thick and juicy: Horiuchi Fruit Farm’s must-try “Fruit Sandwich”
One more treat you definitely should try when visiting Horiuchi Fruit Farm is their “Fruit Sandwich.”
This popular sandwich is available year-round and features a colorful assortment of fruits such as papaya, banana, cherry, kiwi, apple, and pineapple sandwiched together.
However, the fruits used vary slightly depending on the season and supply. Incorporating at least one type of seasonal fruit is a unique commitment from Horiuchi Fruit Farm—a testament to the farm’s commitment to freshness.

What immediately stands out is its thickness. When you pick it up, it feels solid and hefty, packed tightly with large chunks of fruit inside.
The cross-section beautifully displays vibrant-colored fruits, delighting the eyes with just its appearance.

You can enjoy eating it however you like—elegantly with a knife and fork, or boldly by picking it up and taking a big bite with your hands.
The harmony of moist bread, subtly sweet cream, and fresh fruit is unforgettable once you’ve tried it!

The cafe-style Horiuchi Fruit Farm has locations not only in Tokyo Solamachi but also in Nara and Osaka.
Especially the Tokyo Solamachi shop, located near the popular tourist attraction Tokyo Skytree, attracts fruit lovers from both Japan and abroad. Visitors range from solo customers to families and groups of friends.
